Ep. T: Tê Tea 茶

Coming from western Washington State, where Seattle is located, means that I grew up with coffee all around me. Everyone in my family drinks several cups of coffee every morning, brewed at home. Aside from Starbucks, there are small drive-thru coffee shops all over, in small towns and big, and even in my hometown we have several coffee shops that roast their own beans. I say all this to make the point: I never knew the wonders of tea until I came to Taiwan.
In truth, I never liked coffee, and I've only ever had one or two cups in my life. So imagine my surprise when I came to Taiwan and was introduced to Taiwanese tea shops, both the traditional sit-down shops and the ubiquitous hand-shaken tea shops. It felt like I had come home! I love all the different flavors and colors and ways of making the teas. But I think my favorite is sitting around a tea tray with friends and chatting over hot-brewed green tea in small pinming tea cups. It makes me sad that there aren't as many traditional tea shops around anymore. Perhaps people are too busy or "modern" for them? But it also makes me sad that nobody drinks tea in the morning to wake up here, because I could really use a cup of caffeine to wake me up!
Maybe that should be my next job: creating a morning tea shop for all those people who need morning caffeine but don't drink coffee! Until then, though, I'll have to continue enjoying all the wonderful tea drinks I can buy the rest of the day! (Remember to look at the bottom of the post for the song chords!)

事實上，我從不喜歡咖啡，而且一生中只喝過一兩杯咖啡而已．所以想像一下，我來到台灣並被介紹到台灣茶店時，包括傳統的入坐茶館還有無處不在的手搖杯店，我有多麼驚訝．天啊，感覺就像回到了家！我喜歡所有不同的口味、顏色和製作茶的方法．但我想最喜歡的喝茶方式還是跟朋友圍坐在茶盤周圍，大家拿著裝滿熱泡綠茶的小品茗杯一邊喝一邊聊天．讓我感到難過的是，周圍沒有那麼多這種傳統的茶館了．也許人們太忙了也太＂現代＂了，所以就不流行去傳統茶館了，真可惜．但也讓我難過的是，這裡早上沒有人喝茶醒來，因為我真的需要用一杯內有咖啡因的飲料來喚醒我！
也許這應該就是我的下一份工作：為所有早晨需要喝到咖啡因的飲料，但不喝咖啡的人創建一家早茶店！但在這家店開之前呢，我還是會繼續享受下午和晚上才買得到的美妙茶飲料！（記得看網頁最下面的地方就可以找到歌曲的和絃囉！）
