Before I came to Taiwan, I remember lots of my American friends telling me that I would starve when I came here. The reason was because I don't really like to eat Chinese food. By Chinese food, I mean American Chinese food. It just doesn't taste...right to me. But I wasn't too worried about coming to Taiwan. I thought that Taiwanese Chinese food would probably taste really good! And boy, was I right! Like I said, I don't eat pork or fish, so that was hard for me here, especially looking at all the pork blood cakes and Changhua meatballs and Dragon Boat Festival sticky rice dumplings - they look so yummy (I admit sometimes I eat a little anyway, even though it gives me a stomach ache)! But one of the foods that tops my list of favorite Taiwanese dishes has to be beef noodles. They're inexpensive, they're easy to eat, they seem to be everywhere so you can always find them, and they're delicious. Maybe it's the soy sauce broth that Taiwanese beef noodles use that makes them so good, I don't know. All I know is that if it's time to eat and everyone's trying to decide on what food to go for, beef noodles are always an option that everyone can agree on (unless they don't eat beef!). That makes them great in my book. Thank goodness for beef noodles! (Remember to look at the bottom of the post for the song chords!)
在我來台灣之前，還記得很多美國朋友告訴我，來台灣會餓死．原因是因為我不是很喜歡吃中國菜，但我指的中國菜是美式中國菜．它的味道對我來說...就不對！不過當時沒有很擔心來台灣，因為我認為台灣的中國菜應該會很好吃，果然一點都沒錯！如我所說過的，我不吃豬肉或魚，所以這個點對我來說有點困難，尤其是看到豬血糕或彰化肉圓或端午節的粽子的時候──都看起來好好吃（說實話，我有時還是會偷吃一些，即是它讓我胃痛）！但在我最喜歡的台灣菜名列前茅的食物之一必須是牛肉麵．它很便宜，很容易吃的到，似乎無處不在，而且也很好吃．不知道是不是台灣牛肉麵用的醬油湯菜讓它如此美味．但我知道的是，如果到了吃飯的時間，大家都在想要吃甚麼才好，牛肉麵總是每個人都能同意的選擇（除非他們不吃牛！）．我認為這使它變得很棒．謝天謝地有牛肉麵！（記得看網頁最下面的地方就可以找到歌曲的和絃囉！）
